Postcolonial Irish Literature

It's all there except it's different.  The comic tradition in Irish poetry becomes the Comic Tradition in Irish Fiction.  Visual Art becomes music.  Surrealist painting becomes surrealist fiction. What's true of Irish literature may be true of Indian literature too--and other postcolonial literatures.  Everything gets out of whack.  It happens but not where you expect.  Sometimes it is unrecognizable.  And sometimes it is so damned incongruous you can't stand to look at it another second.  You have to emigrate.
